Frommer’s New York State – Finds*
High above the Delaware River, in the southwestern-most extreme of the Catskills, this small, personal inn is all about serenity and the stupendous, unending views, which make guests feel like they’re sleeping in the clouds. Situated on a bluff 300 feet above the river on 60 acres of private woods, this is truly a place to escape to. Take hikes, spot eagles, and enjoy some downtime.
Although it may seem that you’re miles from anywhere, you’re just a short drive from the new museum and concert pavilion at Bethel Woods. Gourmet country breakfasts can be enjoyed on a the deck (one of several) overlooking the river. If it’s view your’re after, settle into the turret of the Sunrise Room. Rooms are nicely appointed, but not fussy, and the two hosts are gracious and helpful.
