Discover the Catskills
Four Counties. Four Perfect Weekends.
WHAT TO DOWith a portion of the pristine Upper Delaware River forming its western border, Sullivan County is favored for its nautical activities. Spend a day on the river—Lander’s River Trips offers a variety of canoeing, kayaking, tubing and rafting trips. Anglers are also hooked on the Upper Delaware and Sullivan’s other rivers, lakes and streams, especially in Roscoe (a.k.a Trout Town, USA), where outfitters such as the venerable Roscoe Little Store sell fishing licenses and equipment.
WHERE TO EAT/STAYMinutes from the 1969 Woodstock Festival site in Bethel, the Dancing Cat Saloon is a much beloved local institution. Dine on tasty tavern fare, then stick around for the nightly live music while sampling the Catskill Mountain Peace vodka, distilled on site. Located 300 feet above the Delaware River in Barryville is the five-room Ecce B&B with a large outdoor deck to enjoy breakfast and the nightly sunset. It’s located on 60 private acres so there are plenty of trails to hike and bird watch (bald eagles, scarlet tanagers, etc.).
